SCIENCE CLUB NEWS
Jonathan Soffer's Science Club at Armstrong recently had its most significant day of the year: the fetal pig dissection.  To learn more about human anatomy, we dissected pig fetuses (autopsy style) because of their close similarities to the internal organs of human beings.  We learned how to spot the difference between the esophagus and the trachea, how to remove a stomach without rupturing it, how to run the bowel (intestines) of the pigs to check for blockages or masses, how the heart connects to the lungs and to the rest of the body, and saw the five major lobes of the brain's cortex.  We had a blast and learned a ton!

I-Pad Forms

1. The BTSD Internet Agreement Forms Your child received the forms in their science class to be signed as returned. The form is located online in the Armstrong Handbook posted on the Armstrong Website. The Internet Usage Agreement is on page 25 of the handbook.
2. BTSD Technology Fee. The technology Fee was approved by the school board this August and is $35.00. This fee will cover the iPad insurance as well as the accessories, which is different than in years past where it only covered the paid insurance but had to pay out of pocket for chargers ($40.00) and cases ($20.00). This has been board approved and is required for all students. Students can pay cash or checks payable to BTSD. NOT ARMSTRONG. Students will hand in the money to their homeroom teachers.

In order for us to roll-out the I-Pads, we need to ensure that all students and parents have filled out and returned all required paperwork as well as paying for the insurance on the tablet.  Please click on the links below to view/print off the documents. Thanks so much for your help!

DISTRICT GRADING PROCEDURES

Bristol Township School District is always working to better serve our students and their parents and guardians.  After careful review, we are pleased to announce that starting with the school year 2017 – 2018, students will be receiving numerical grades on their progress reports and report cards instead of letter grades.  We believe numerical grades provide a more accurate picture of our students’ academic performance.  Please click here for additional information on the new policies, honor roll, and information regarding how a student may fail a subject for the year. **********************************************************

SAP
A Student Assistance Program is a systematic process through which school personnel can identify students who are having problems and refer them for help. The heart of the program is a Student Assistance Team, which is composed of school personnel who are specially trained to work with these students.
